That's the bunny barn? I thought it was your house!
Although I spend hours per day in the bunny "barn" (palace is a more suitable label) and it's designed to look like a miniature version of our house, it's strictly for my Holland lop bunnies. Imagine the look on the county auditor's face when he peeked in the window, expecting to raise our taxes and catch me in a lie, but instead leaving with a fun story to tell his colleagues about spoiled rabbits!
Speaking of spoiled, we are by no means rich as many assume. Our 24x24' bunny barn was custom-built by my husband in 2016 and is constructed of materials we mostly purchased through building supply auctions. The windows are mismatched, the barnwood is recycled from a friend's farm, but the result is still an impressive bunny resort that I feel very thankful to provide for my rabbits. In early 2017, we switched from traditional wire cages to solid floor double-story Bunny Villa condos and began litter training all of our bunnies.
Our Holland Lops are treated very well. Twice a day, they get premium gray/soy/sweetener-free Sherwood rabbit feed, organically grown timothy hay/orchard grass (grown on our farm when possible), and filtered water (I kid you not...the bunnies get reverse osmosis water. . .lucky rabbits!) along with treats such as organic leafy greens, plantain herb leaves, dandelion, cilantro, and parsley. As long as the weather is decent, I take the bunnies out into their exercise pens in the yard (or inside play areas), where they binky, play in boxes, and enjoy a relaxing nap in the shade. On occasion, a guinea hen will join them in the yard.

Not only will you find our bunnies featured throughout this website and our YouTube channel, but they also appeared in a PhD Science textbook in 2020! We're so hoppy for our bunny stars! :)
