Campo's Sunny Jim - solid orange (2015-2023...rest in peace, Sunny Jim)
Sunny Jim is an adorable orange buck, and we are so grateful to Campo's Cottontails for giving us the opportunity to have this handsome guy! Not only does Sunny have a sweet, docile temperament, but he is also a wonderfully compact buck and is well-balanced. Just look at those plump cheeks and wide ears too! Sunny has endless energy and will frolic outside in his exercise pen from dawn until dusk if allowed but sits calmly for head rubs. Sunny is now five years old and will remain here as a pet even when his breeding days have ended.
Hook's Moose - solid opal
Moose is a young solid opal buck out of our Goldilocks and Earl Grey and is the grandson of our beloved Timmy. This little guy is about as adorable as Hollands come! He has a compact body, fat, round head and ears, nice bone, and the thickest, softest (and craziest) fur of all our bunnies. Moose is like a child hyped up on funnel cakes at an amusement park - he can't sit still and is so exuberant, but I love the little guy.
Hook's Fozzie - solid orange
Wocka wocka (or more appropriately: "hoppa hoppa")! Fozzie is such a special boy as he was the last offspring of his mom Camilla and is the spitting image of his sire Sunny Jim. As an only kit, I used a hot water bottle, plenty of Camilla's fur, and carried his nest box in the house each night to make sure he stayed nice and toasty. Once he began hopping around, he would rarely leave his mom's side and resided with her for his first three months. Fozzie will likely stick around and join our breeding program.
In loving memory of Timmy, the sweetest bunny ♥
Timmy is the bunny who broke the mold and set the bar for not only superior Holland type but also the affectionate, mellow pet bunny we all so desire. Timmy lived at Hook's Hollands for five years before losing his life during his second hernia repair surgery in 2020. His warm kisses, generous chin rubs, and ability to befriend just about any human will never be forgotten and will forever be mourned. Losing him broke my heart more than words can describe.
We are forever appreciative of Luv Lops' Rabbitry for sharing sweet Timmy with us and can only hope for another buck with such a wonderful type and temperament some day. |
